📢 Urgent Update for all Keiser City Pet Owners! 🐕‍🦺

At the recent City Council meeting held in June 2023, Ordinance 2023-01 was passed, amending the existing ordinance 2021-02 passed in 2021. This ordinance includes some significant changes affecting dog owners in our city.

Key Changes include:

  1. The ban has been expanded to include Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher & Cane Corso in addition to Pit Bulls.

  2. Owners of these breeds can have their dogs "Grandfathered In" if they were registered with the City by the deadline of June 6, 2023.

  3. Registered banned breeds must undergo an evaluation by a city-approved evaluator.

  4. All unregistered banned breeds have 60 days to be relocated from the city limits.

  5. A strict "one strike" policy is now in effect for ALL breeds. Unprovoked bites or aggressive behavior will lead to immediate removal from the city limits.

  6. Puppies of banned breeds will have 180 days to be removed from the city limits.

  7. The maximum number of dogs allowed in a household is reduced from five (5) to three (3).

Please remember, our aim is to promote a harmonious and safe environment for all residents, both human and pet.🏡

For more details, a copy of the full ordinance will be available by the end of the business day on June 21, 2023, at City Hall and on our website at www.cityofkeiser.com.

Spread the word and let's comply with the changes for the benefit of our community. 🐾
